Welcome to the Tinfoil Gallery
Pastels ~ Graphite ~ Charcoal ~ Watercolor
In The New Room...
Romans 5:3-5 in Portrait
This series is how I envision
these words expressed through faces:
"...we rejoice in our sufferings,
knowing that
suffering produces endurance,
and endurance produces character,
and character produces hope,
and hope does not put us to shame
because God's love has been
poured into our hearts..." [ESV]
Thank you to the remarkable individuals
who allowed me to draw them!
In The Little Parlor...
Selections from Daily Tiles
Following my Tinfoil Project posts
on Instagram I started creating
small tile-sized works of
different mediums & monthly themes.
Check out the Tinfoil Tile page for details!
In The Blue Room...
New and True Favorites
Here are a few new pieces
separate from this year's portrait series.
Among my old favorites are
two of the Afghan women drawings.
The Tinfoil Gallery opened in 2021,
featuring my series on Afghan women.
I see them always having a home here.
From The Mount Vernon Estate...
George Washington's Rooms
There is a story behind
the Tinfoil Gallery's room names.
Incorporating my love of history,
I named the rooms after those
in the mansion on the Mount Vernon estate.
Each time I refresh this site
I assemble my pieces in the rooms
where they naturally fit...
The "New Room" was the last addition
to George Washington's home.
In it our first president displayed
grand-sized paintings and greeted visitors.
In the "Little Parlor" which
was a more intimate setting
George & Martha hosted tea,
evening discussions and games.
The "Blue Room" was a bedroom for
the Washingtons' visiting family,
a room not seen by all of their guests.
I aim for this website to feel
as brick & mortar as possible,
like you are walking into a gallery building,
winding your way through various rooms.
Stay as long as you'd like!
I continue to study and practice my work
among the mighty band of artists at the
Lacey Lewis School of Realist Art
and am grateful for their valuable critiques!
Thank you for stopping into
the Tinfoil Gallery! ~Carole
So I went down to the potter's house,
and there he was working at his wheel.
